The final trailer for The Boys!

The Boys, launching July 26 on Amazon Prime Video and in production on season 2, is a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes – who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods – abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about The Seven, and Vought – the multi-billion dollar conglomerate that manages these superheroes and covers up all of their dirty secrets. The Boys are Billy Butcher (Karl Urban, “Star Trek”), Hughie (Jack Quaid, “The Hunger Games”), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso, “Detroit”), Frenchie (Tomer Capon, “Hostages”), and The Female (Karen Fukuhara, “Suicide Squad”). Simon Pegg (“Mission: Impossible – Fallout”) guest stars as Hughie’s father.

The Supes of The Seven are led by Homelander (Antony Starr, “Banshee”) who is joined by Starlight (Erin Moriarty, “Captain Fantastic”), Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott, “House of Cards”), A-Train (Jessie T. Usher, “Independence Day: Resurgence”), The Deep (Chace Crawford, “Gossip Girl”) and Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell, “Supernatural”).

Academy Award® nominee Elisabeth Shue (“Leaving Las Vegas”) stars as Madelyn Stillwell, Vought’s Senior VP of Hero Management.

Based on The New York Times best-selling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, “The Boys” was developed by showrunner Eric Kripke (“Supernatural”), who also serves as writer, executive producer and directed the season finale. Joining Kripke as executive producers are Point Grey Pictures’ Seth Rogen (“Preacher”), Evan Goldberg (“Preacher”), and James Weaver (“Preacher”), Original Film’s Neal H. Moritz (“Prison Break”), Pavun Shetty (“New Girl”) and Ori Marmur (“Preacher”), as well as Ken Levin and Jason Netter. Ennis and Robertson also co-executive produce. The pilot episode was directed by Dan Trachtenberg (“10 Cloverfield Lane”).

The eight-episode Amazon Prime Video original series is co-produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television Studios with Point Grey Pictures, Kripke Enterprises and Original Film.

Recap for Amazon Prime Video experience at SDCC19

HAYWARD, CA (July 23rd 2019) - The Amazon Prime Video Experience was spectacular this year. One of the main highlights of the entire con for Old Ninja and Kr0nus was covering The Boys Red Carpet and attending the fan premiere party that screened the first 2 episodes of The Boys. The Boys is not going to disappoint! Amazon Prime Video brought more than The Boys though. Upcoming Victorian Fantasy series Carnival Row and the much anticipated return of the hit SciFi show The Expanse also had their own events at SDCC19.

Fans didn’t mind lining up around the block to experience the offsite activation all week, going crazy for the erected replica sets that brought the Prime Video series’ to life. (3,000 fans a day with wait times almost 3 hours!)

The 60,000 square-foot immersive activation was the place to be this convention as it played host to three celeb-filled parties, with notable appearances from Orlando Bloom, Cara Delevingne and Chase Crawford - who was even surprised with a birthday cake at the The Boys screening premiere.

San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer even stopped by the Amazon Prime Video Experience, who Orlando Bloom claims to have run out of the Carnival Row activation due to the immigration storyline.

  • Orlando and Cara showed up in Cosplay costumes at the Carnival Row screening and were dancing on chairs and the fans did not know it was them. The director told the audience that they couldn’t show up b/c they went to the EW party… THEN they took off the costumes and the fans went nuts. They introduced the series and sat in the front row to watch with the guests.

  • Chace Crawford had a surprise birthday cake from the cast/crew of The Boys at the premiere. He was so happy and blew out the candles. (photo below)

  • The Director of the Boys introduced Chace and said “you loved him in Gossip Girls but you will Hate him in this series.” Also all cast/crew were saying Fuck every other word since it’s used a lot in the series.

  • The cast of The Expanse surprised the biggest cosplay fans when they went in the activation.

  • The Orville Experience is open to all - no badges required!

  • Fans of the show will be immersed in the world of The Orville with an enormous display of costumes, creatures, props and art pulled directly from set.

    • Highlights include concept art, the practical model of The Orville used for filming in the series, the full crew wardrobe, as well as costumes from favorite characters and guest stars including Pria (Charlize Theron), Darulio (Rob Lowe). Also included is Bortus’ mustache, and an array of creatures including the massive alien engineer Unk.

  • Fans should be on the lookout for drop ins from The Orville cast, executive producers, and members of the show’s creative team.

  • Select giveaways will be distributed throughout the weekend.
Quote from Seth MacFarlane about The Orville Experience:

    • “After completing two seasons of The Orville and witnessing the wonderfully gratifying audience response, I decided I wanted to bring something directly to the fans this year — and there’s no better place to do it than San Diego Comic-Con. I’m so proud of the work of our creative team, who bring this show to life with all of their incredible costumes and props, make-up and practical FX that are so unique and specific to The Orville. We figured our fans would love to see all of it firsthand, so we pulled together an extensive collection directly from the set, and created The Orville Experience. We look forward to showcasing it this weekend for as many fans as possible.”
