LOS ANGELES, CA - August 6, 2019 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) - Organizers of NostalgiaCon’s inaugural ‘80’s pop culture convention (http://www.NostalgiaCon80s.com) September 28 and 29 at the Anaheim Convention Center announced today a national call for retro pop culture collectors of unique ‘80s toys, video games, posters, electronics, and furniture. As part of eclectic items that already include the National Boombox Museum and ‘80s cars, NostalgiaCon is adding space to spotlight select collections that demonstrate strong fan interest.

To submit a collection for consideration, email info@nostalgiacon.org and specify the exact nature and space requirement of your collection. The deadline is August 31. Only collections that are not being sold on the exhibit floor will be considered for this free showcase. Production Has Begun on the Single-Camera Family Series


  • Netflix and Walden Media today announced Alicia Silverstone (Clueless, American Woman) and Mark Feuerstein (Royal Pains) have been cast in the upcoming live-action seriesThe Baby-Sitters Club. In the series adaptation, Silverstone will play Elizabeth Thomas-Brewer, the mother of Kristy Thomas and love interest of Watson Brewer, played by Feuerstein.


  •  Based on Ann M. Martin’s best-selling book series, The Baby-Sitters Club is a contemporary original series that will follow the friendship and babysitting adventures of five best friends -Kristy Thomas, Mary Anne Spier, Claudia Kishi, Stacey McGill, and Dawn Schafer - in Stoneybrook, Connecticut. 


  • Production has begun on the single-camera family show in Vancouver. 


  • The family-friendly adaptation comes from Walden Media and Michael De Luca, who will executive produce. Rachel Shukert (GLOW) will serve as showrunner,  Lucy Kitada and Naia Cucukov will serve as executive producers and Lucia Aniello (Broad City) will serve as director and executive producer. The series author Ann M. Martin will also produce alongside Aniello's Paulilu Productions. There is a 10-episode order.

Guillermo del Toro is among the most creative and visionary artists of his generation whose distinctive style is showcased through his work as a filmmaker, screenwriter, producer and author. Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, he first gained worldwide recognition for the 1993 Mexican American co-production “Cronos,” a supernatural horror film, which he directed from his own screenplay after beginning his career working as a special effects makeup artist. The film premiered at the 1993 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Mercedes-Benz Award. It also won over 20 international awards and eight Ariel Awards from the Mexican Academy of Film, including Best Director, Best Screenplay, and the Golden Ariel.

Del Toro’s latest producing project is the CBS Films, eOne and Lionsgate feature “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark,” based on the books by Alvin Schwartz.  André Øvredal directed the film which will be released in theaters everywhere August 9, 2019.

Through his overall deal with DreamWorks Animation, he has been an executive producer on the films “Kung Fu Panda 2 and 3,” “Puss in Boots 1 and 2” and “Rise of the Guardians.” He produced “The Book of Life,” for Fox Animation and ReelFX. His DreamWorks animated series “TrollHunters” is the most successful family series on Netflix. Under his overall deal with Fox Searchlight, he is currently producing “Antlers” (directed by Scott Cooper and starring Keri Russell. Del Toro’s next live action film is the period thriller “Nightmare Alley” which he will direct, produce and co-write for Searchlight. His most recent film, the contemporary fairy tale “The Shape of Water,” for Fox Searchlight, premiered at the 2017 Venice Film Festival, where it won the Golden Lion for Best Picture. It went on to win Golden Globes, BAFTAs, DGA, PGA and Oscars for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Score and Best Production Design.

Terminator Reunion for Silicon Valley Comic Con

HAYWARD, CA (July 23rd 2019) - The Amazon Prime Video Experience was spectacular this year. One of the main highlights of the entire con for Old Ninja and Kr0nus was covering The Boys Red Carpet and attending the fan premiere party that screened the first 2 episodes of The Boys. The Boys is not going to disappoint! Amazon Prime Video brought more than The Boys though. Upcoming Victorian Fantasy series Carnival Row and the much anticipated return of the hit SciFi show The Expanse also had their own events at SDCC19.

Fans didn’t mind lining up around the block to experience the offsite activation all week, going crazy for the erected replica sets that brought the Prime Video series’ to life. (3,000 fans a day with wait times almost 3 hours!)

The 60,000 square-foot immersive activation was the place to be this convention as it played host to three celeb-filled parties, with notable appearances from Orlando Bloom, Cara Delevingne and Chase Crawford - who was even surprised with a birthday cake at the The Boys screening premiere. 

San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer even stopped by the Amazon Prime Video Experience, who Orlando Bloom claims to have run out of the Carnival Row activation due to the immigration storyline.

  • Orlando and Cara showed up in Cosplay costumes at the Carnival Row screening and were dancing on chairs and the fans did not know it was them. The director told the audience that they couldn’t show up b/c they went to the EW party… THEN they took off the costumes and the fans went nuts. They introduced the series and sat in the front row to watch with the guests.

  • Chace Crawford had a surprise birthday cake from the cast/crew of The Boys at the premiere. He was so happy and blew out the candles. (photo below)

  • The Director of the Boys introduced Chace and said “you loved him in Gossip Girls but you will Hate him in this series.” Also all cast/crew were saying Fuck every other word since it’s used a lot in the series.
